The Plus-Sized Models who killed it in 2018

Fashion in 2018. Ugh. where do i begin?!

We’ve held onto the 90’s sneakers and we’ve brought back 80’s neon and oversized suits but one thing i am glad to say we haven't bought back is the idea that being Plus-sized means you are neither fashionable or beautiful.

ITS 2018 PEOPLE and so many Plus sized Models have killed it this year! Both women and men are beginning to stand up asking that models represent the wide range of body types. And with the gorgeous Ashley Graham and Iskra Lawrence gracing the covers of Vogue and Glamour magazine why shouldn’t we be?

This November we should all be adding some of these beautiful boss babes to the on-going list of celebrities who really are paving a brighter and better 2019 for all of us.

Ashley Graham. If you don't know who she is then you must be living under a rock. Not only is she fierce and fire but the 31 year old model has continued throughout 2018 to fight for a change in beauty perceptions in the fashion industry. Whether she’s walking the catwalk in a stunning leopard print dress for Dolce and Gabbana to her collaboration with Addition Elle to create her own line of lingerie for women with bra sizes from C to H this women is continually proving that the sexiest accessory is body confidence.

In 2018 a new face was bought into the scene of fashion. Breaking almost all of the social barriers expected for a model Nemar Parchment has taken 2018 on in the coolest way possible. From ASOS ads to now have walked in London Fashion Week and become one of the first male plus sized models to be signed with IMG. Still working on helping other male models feel comfortable in their skin Nemar is definitely one to watch in 2019.

Barbie Ferreira burst onto the scene after jump starting her career by landing a job fronting for American Eagle loungewear brand Aerie for the #AerieREAL campaign.. Ever since she has since continued to leave her mark on the industry by modelling for acclaimed brands such as Target , Forever 21 and adidas. This rising beauty is now a face in the Moschino x H&M campaign and is continuing to use her platform to educate women on body positivity and body image.

Precious Victoria Lee seems to be taking the world by storm this year. From having a name like Precious though, you wouldn't believe it but once you see how this girl celebrates her curves as well as her ethnicity you see how she has gotten to where she is today. Far from what people believe to be the stereotypical model Precious believes in bending the rules and breaking social barriers. In 2018 she has starred in Lane Bryant’s #PlusIsEqual and #ImNoAngel campaigns. While doing so she has advocated for people of colour and women of different sizes to be treated equally in the modelling and fashion industries.

If you've been feeling a little down lately about your body you should definitely check out Brielle Anyea Cunningham on instagram. Not only is she forming a platform for herself but shes is becoming such a big influence on future generations and how they are going to look at themselves. This curvy, body positive babe is looking to make an impact and that's exactly what she's been doing. From her positive affirmations to her entrepreneurship she seems to be running and we’re all just trying to keep up.
