The women of the Royal Family never fail to look impeccable and stylish every time they step outside into the public for an event. We’ve compiled our favourite fashion moments from the Duchess of Cambridge, the Duchess of Sussex, and Queen Elizabeth II during the past year...
Kate Middleton in a Jenny Packham gown and the iconic Lover’s Knot Tiara
For a diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a sparkling dress by Jenny Packham. The sheen from the fabric was just the undertone of shimmer, with shining embroidery and beading to bring it to full sparkle. However, the dress was not the only shining piece to catch the eye.
The Duchess also wore the famous Lover’s Knot Tiara, famously worn by multiple royal family members before her. Commissioned in 1914 by Queen Mary, it was made by sacrificing existing pieces to recreate a crown once owned by her grandmother.
Meghan Markle on Day Three of the Australian Tour in Dion Lee
Throughout the Australian Tour, the Duchess of Sussex had multiple outfits each day. One of our favourite looks is the navy asymmetrical Dion Lee dress, paired with a matching shade of navy Manolo Blahnik pumps.
She quickly threw on a sandy-coloured Martin Grant trench coat for the official walk. ** Extra: I feel it would be rude to not mention Meghan’s gorgeous wedding dress as a 2018 fav **
The Queen in a Angela Kelly Creation
Queen Elizabeth II wore a duck egg blue tweed ensemble, with the jacket trim embellished with Swarovski crystals, to the Richard Quinn Autumn/Winter 2018 show during London Fashion Week.
Made by her long-term seamstress, Angela Kelly, she made the surprise appearance at her first fashion show to present the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design to Quinn. This literal Queen slays. Yaaas Queen.
